Attorney Romulo Fredrick of West Palm Beach; extortionist

The state of Florida presented Romulo Fredrick with a law license in 1991.

The Florida Bar found Romulo guilty of the following misconduct.

In one matter, Romulo represented JaiJairam Deodatt and his business in an attempt to recover certain monies loaned to Harry and Eliza Belizaire. Romulo’s client alleged that the Belizaires had borrowed money and thereafter attempted to repay those loans with checks that were returned due to
insufficient funds

On several occasions, Romulo sent letters to the Belizaires’ and to their attorney Stewart Karlin threatening to bring criminal actions against the Belizaires’ if they didn’t immediately pay his client cash as a result of the bounced checks. Romulo also threatened to report the Belizaires’ to the governing federal agency for aliens applying to this country for residency/citizenship.

In plain language, Romulo was engaged in extortion by threatening criminal action in order to gain an advantage in a civil case.

As a consequence of her misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Florida Supreme Court punished Romulo by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. March 2013) Romulo practices at 132 Kings Way in West Palm Beach, Florida.
