Attorney Burton Stephens, Jr. of Rock Island, IL; cokehead

The state of Illinois presented Peter Reynolds Coladarci with a law license in 1982.

The Disciplinary Commission found Peter guilty of the following misconduct.

Burton was convicted for possession of a controlled substance, a Class Four Felony. During a

traffic stop for a cracked windshield, police searched Burton’s vehicle and found a substance containing cocaine.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the Patron Saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Illinois Supreme Court punished Peter by gifting him with a complimentary 1-year suspension of his law license.

Burton thought it was acceptable to engage in the unauthorized practice of law during the time his law license was suspended. In addition, Burton failed to cooperate with disciplinary investigators. In truth, Burton said, “Up Yours!!”

As a consequence of his misconduct, the Patron Saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Illinois Supreme Court punished Burton by gifting him with a complimentary 60-day suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. March 2013) Burton practices with the Stephens Law Office at 1800 3rd Avenue in Rock Island, Illinois.

Warning: Burton does not carry legal malpractice insurance
