Attorney Claire Myers of Melbourne, FL; unethical Idiot
The state of Florida presented Claire Stevenson Myers with a law license in 1985 after she graduated from the University of Florida Law School.
The 9th Judicial Circuit Grievance Committee found Daniel guilty of the following misconduct.
In one matter, Kapiolani Hilo hired Claire to represent her in a marriage dissolution matter. Ms. Hilo hired Claire because she needed an attorney knowledgeable about military laws and benefits and believed the respondent had such knowledge. Ms. Hilo advised Claire that her husband was retired military and she was interested in receiving her fair share of his military retirement and medical benefits, rather than receiving alimony.
Claire served her pre-trail statement on opposing counsel; however, she stated that alimony was at issue when in fact it wasn’t. At the conclusion of the trial, the court directed both attorneys to submit final closing arguments. After submitting the closing argument to the court, Claire failed to maintain communications with Ms. Hilo or with opposing counsel.
When the final judgment was entered by the court, Claire didn’t sent Ms. Hilo a copy until 35 days later, and when she did it was missing pages. Ms. Hilo repeatedly called Claire to obtain the missing pages, but she never returned any of the calls.
As a consequence of her misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Florida Supreme Court punished Claire by gifting her with a complimentary reprimand.
As we speak (ca. March 2013) Claire is employed as Assistant Regional Conflict Counsel at 7165 Murrell Road in Melbourne, Florida.
