Attorney Daniel Brodersen of Orlando; lying Dufus

The state of Florida presented Daniel Newton Brodersen with a law license in 1987 after he graduated from Nova Southeastern University of Law School.

The 9th Judicial Circuit Grievance Committee found Daniel guilty of the following misconduct.

In one matter, Bill Frisbie hired Daniel’s law firm to represent him and his businesses in a controversy with the city of Daytona Beach concerning alleged code violations that existed in various trailer courts Frisbie had recently purchased.

Daniel was assigned to represent Frisbie in filing a federal civil rights claim against the city. Daniel was later hired to handle a foreclosure action on Frisbie’s behalf.

Frisbee advised Daniel that he believed the sellers bore some responsibility for the code violations that existed at the time of the purchase which were not disclosed to him. Frisbee also advised Daniel that he wanted to seek indemnity from the mortgages for any damages he might suffer as a result of the code enforcement action.

Daniel then wrote to the mortgagees’ attorney re: Frisbie’s indemnification position; however, the attorney advised Daniel that his clients had no responsibility to indemnify Frisbie for any losses.

Subsequently, Frisbie stopped making his mortgage payments. When Daniel became aware of the mortgage arrearage he failed to advise Frisbie that a successful foreclosure action would adversely impact the pending federal civil rights claim. Daniel then agreed to represent Frisbie in the foreclosure action. Later on, a default judgment was entered against Frisbie and his federal lawsuit was dismissed by the trial court.

Frisbie then wrote the managing partner of Daniel’s law firm expressing his dissatisfaction with the firm’s handling of his legal matters. When confronted by the managing partner regarding his communication of key information to Frisbee, Daniel fabricated two letters which he backdated and gave them to the managing partner. Daniel lied that he had in fact mailed the two letters to Frisbee on the phony dates indicated in the letters.

As a consequence of her misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Florida Supreme Court punished Daniel by gifting him with a complimentary 1-year suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. March 2013) Daniel practices with the Brodersen Law Firm at 533 North Magnolia Avenue in Orlando, Florida.
