Sen. Mitch McConnell: Today’s “Bullshit” Award Winner

Congratulations to….

Sen. Mitch McConnell
Today’s “Bullshit” Award Winner

As the U.S. Senate’s No. 1 Obama antagonist and Bullshitter, Mitch will do and say anything to gain brownie points from the NRA.

Recently, Obama nominated Caitlin Halligan for the second time to sit on the DC Circuit Court of Appeals. Mitch found it acceptable to again lead a filibuster against Judge Halligan’s appointment along with his fellow Bullshitter, Sen. Charles Grassley.

Mitch had the chutzpah to call Halligan’s former work as solicitor general for New York “a textbook example of judicial activism.” Yeah Mitch and the decision in Citizens United by your buddies on the Supreme Court wasn’t “judicial activism,” right? Mitch the Comic then went on to say, “This is a court where we can least afford to nominate an activist judge.”

Sen. Grassley had the temerity to say that Halligan “could not be trusted.” This is the same buffoon (my apologies to buffoons) that supported the sham “death panel” arguments by saying at a town hall meeting in Iowa that they were correct to fear that the government “would pull the plug on grandma.”

It is well known that the NRA opposes Halligan’s nomination. As a compliant lackey for the NRA and facing reelection in next year, Mitch will do and say anything to please the extremists in the NRA. Hopefully, the NRA is going to reimburse Mitch for the costs he incurred in purchasing a pair of industrial strength knee pads.

And lastly, as we speak (ca. March 2013), there are nine (9) judges on the D.C. Circuit that were appointed by republican presidents and three (3) appointed by a democrat as shown below. We can be assured that Mitch never filibustered any of the nine republican nominees.

  1. Judge Brett M. Kavanaugh – 2006 – Bush II appointee
  2. Judge Thomas Beall Griffith – 2005 – Bush II appointee
  3. Judge Janice Rogers Brown – 2005 – Bush II appointee
  4. Judge Arthur Raymond Randolph – 1990 – Bush I appointee
  5. Judge Karen LeCraft Henderson – 1990 Bush I appointee
  6. Judge David Bryan Sentelle – 1987 Reagan appointee – senior status
  7. Judge Stephen Fain Williams – 1986 Reagan appointee – senior status
  8. Judge James Lane Buckley – 1985 Reagan appointee – senior status
  9. Judge Laurence Hirsch Silberman – 1985 Reagan appointee – senior status

  1. Judge Judith Ann Wilson Rogers – 1994 Clinton appointee
  2. Judge Davis S. Tatel – 1994 Clinton appointee
  3. Judge Harry Thomas Edwards – 1980 Carter appointee – senior status

It is absolutely appalling that Mitch is not satisfied with a 9 to 3 ratio of conservative republican judges on the D.C. court. Apparently, a 9 to 4 conservative majority cannot be tolerated by Mitch and those of his ilk.

Congrats Mitch; keep up the good work! We should let everyone know of your amazing record as one of America’s Premier Bullshitters; you are far too humble.
