Today’s “Bullshit” Award Winner
During the recent oral arguments regarding the Voting Rights Act, Johnny found it necessary to endear himself with the de facto bigots demanding that the Act be found unconstitutional.
Johnny asked Solicitor General Donald Verrilli if he knew “which state has the worst ratio of white voter turnout to African-American voter turnout,” claming it was Massachusetts.
Of course Johnny’s question was specifically aimed at providing cover for the bigots in Alabama and other parts of the Deep South that have spent decades violating the voting rights of African-Americans and other minorities.
Apparently, Johnny would like us to believe that Alabama and Mississippi are performing much better in protecting the voting rights of minorities than Massachusetts. This type of specious argument doesn’t pass the involuntary laugh test.
In the future, if another Voting Rights Act case is argued before the Court, maybe Johnny should consider wearing a white robe topped off with a white pointed hat.
Congrats Johnny; keep up the good work! We should let everyone know of your amazing record as one of America’s Premier Bullshitters; you are far too humble.
