Attorney Alfred Daniels of Oak Bluffs, MA; ethical misfit

The Massachusetts Supreme Court presented Alfred C.W. Daniels with a law license in 1975.

The Board of Bar Overseers found Richard guilty of the following misconduct.

Alfred and his family were close personal friends of Robert L. Graves, Jr., a resident of Martha’s Vineyard, and Mr. Graves’ family. Over the course of twenty years, Alfred represented Mr. Graves, members of his family, and businesses in which he was involved.

At one time, a bankruptcy petition was filed concerning Mr. Graves, dba Graves Machine & Tool Co. and Graves Texaco. Alfred also acted as personal counsel for Mr. and Mrs. Graves in regards to an environmental claim against Packer Co., concerning gas tanks located on the Graves’ gas station property.

Alfred represented the graves in relation to efforts by Compass Bank to obtain possession of real property they owned. Compass Bank prevailed before the bankruptcy court. Alfred was paid $7,775 by the Graves and their family members for his representation of them in the bankruptcy action. Contrary to bankruptcy rules, Alfred failed to report the $7,775 he received to the court

As a consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Disciplinary Commission punished Richard by gifting him with a complimentary 3-year suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. March 2013) Alfred practices at 9 Tuckernuck Avenue in Oak Bluffs, Massachusetts.
