Attorney Charles Brehmer of Bakersfield, CA; ethically inept
The state of California provided Charles Robert Brehmer with a law license in 1992 after he graduated from Valparaiso University Law School in Indiana.
The California Commission on Judicial Performance found Charles guilty of the following misconduct while he was a sitting Kern County Superior Court judge.
Judge Brehmer knowingly violated the Political Reform Act by receiving cash contributions in excess of $100, failing to disclose the true source (lied) of a $15,000 loan to his campaign, failing to disclose $9,000 in contributions on a pre-election campaign statement, and failing to timely file three semi-annual campaign statements.
In regards to the $15,000 campaign loan that actually came from his campaign treasurer, Charlie deposited the funds into his personal account rather than the campaign account as the law required.
As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Judicial Commission punished Judge Brehmer by gifting him with a complimentary admonishment.
As we speak (ca. February 2013), Charles practices at 5201 California Avenue in Bakersfield, California.
