Attorney John Willard of Wilmington, DE; ethical goblin

The state of Delaware presented John M. Willard with a law license in 1975.

The Delaware Supreme court found John guilty of the following misconduct.

  2. Filed false Certificates of Compliance with Supreme Court for five (5) falsely stating he was in compliance with records keeping requirements
  3. Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  4. Failed to provide client with necessary court documents
  5. Failed to properly prepare client to give testimony at a deposition
  6. Commingled client funds with personal funds
  7. Failed to safeguard client funds
  8. Failed to provide client with written statement that advance fee was refundable if it was not earned
  9. Failed to retain unearned fees in client trust account
  10. Failed to notify client that client funds were not being held in separate client trust account
  11. Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
  12. Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty or misrepresentation
  13. Misconduct involved multiple offenses and took place over extended period of time
As a consequence of his misconduct, apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Delaware Supreme Court punished John by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. February 2013) John practices at 224 Plymouth Road in Wilmington, Delaware.
