Attorney Kyle Hunter of Columbus, OH; convicted felon
The state of Ohio presented Kyle Lee Hunter with a law license in 1998 after he graduated from the University of Toledo Law School.
The Columbus Bar Association Grievance Committee found Kyle guilty of the following misconduct.
In one matter, Kyle was convicted in a Federal Court for failing to report a cash payment of more than $10,000 to his law practice in violation of federal law. Kyle was sentenced to six months in prison.
In another matter, Mark represented Trina M. Scott on a contingent-fee basis in a personal injury matter arising from an auto accident. Scott provided Kyle all the documentation that he requested and he assured her that he would handle the case expeditiously and effectively. In truth, Mark did little or nothing to advance Trina’s case. As a result of Mark’s gross negligence and/or incompetence, Trina’s medical providers filed several collection actions against her.
As a consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Ohio Supreme Court punished Mark by gifting him with a complimentary suspension of his law license.
It should be comforting to the folks in Columbus to know that shortly another convicted felon will be practicing law in their area compliments of the comedians sitting on the Ohio Supreme Court.
As we speak (ca. February 2013) Kyle’s law license will be reinstated once he makes restitution to Charles Brian Stickler III of his entire d$2,000 retainer.
