Attorney John Van Sickle of Columbus, OH; ethical gremlin

 
The state of Ohio presented John Van Allan Van Sickle with a law license in 1983 after he graduated from Capitol University Law School.
 
The Columbus Bar Association Grievance Committee found John guilty of the following misconduct.
  1. Engaged in the unauthorized practice of law (UPL) while license suspended
  2. Neglected several client matters
  3. Failed to respond to disciplinary investigators (Up Yours, said John!)
  4. Failed to comply with bankruptcy court orders
  5. Found in contempt of court for engaging in misconduct
  6. Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
  7. Engaged in conduct adversely reflecting on fitness to practice law
  8. Withdrew representation w/o taking steps to protect client interests
  9. Intentionally failed to seek client objectives
  10. Engaged in a pattern of misconduct
  11. Misconduct directly harmed several clients
  12. Failed to make prompt restitution to clients (victims)
As one would suspect, this wasn’t John’s 1st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree. He previously received a complimentary reprimand from the comedians sitting on the Ohio Supreme Court for engaging in a variety of misconduct.
 
As a consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Ohio Supreme Court punished John by gifting him with a complimentary 1-year suspension of his law license.
 
As we speak (ca. February 2013) John is employed as Manager of Capitol Title Agency Ltd. at 473 East Rich Street in Columbus, Ohio.
