Attorney James Eberly, Sr. of Cumberland, MD; liar

The state of Delaware presented James C. Eberly, Sr. with a law license in 1972 after he graduated from the University of Maryland Law School.

The Delaware Supreme court found James guilty of the following misconduct.

In one matter, James failed to perform any substantial work on completing a brief for filing with a an appellate court despite obtaining several extensions of time. James then misrepresented (lied) to his clients about the status of his work on the brief and his ordering of transcripts.

John also entered into a settlement of issues relating to property division without advising his client of, or properly preparing his client for, those issues prior to a property division hearing.

As a consequence of his misconduct, apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Delaware Supreme Court punished James by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. January 2013) James practices at 213 Washington Street in Cumberland, Maryland.
