The state of Illinois presented Gary Alonzo Payton with a law license in 1987.
The Disciplinary Commission found Michael guilty of the following misconduct.
Garry failed to expedite litigation on his client’s behalf in a civil rights matter. As a result of Garry’s gross negligence, the client (victim) was ordered by the trial court to pay $9,055 in sanctions.
As a consequence of his misconduct, the Patron Saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Illinois Supreme Court punished Garry by gifting him with a complimentary 45-day suspension of his law license.
As we speak (ca. December 2012) Garry practices with the Law Offices of Gary. A. Payton at 1821 Walden Office Square in Schaumburg, Illinois.
