Attorney Jacquelyn Champagne of Milwaukee; congenital liar The state of Wisconsin presented Jacquelyn Champagne with a law license in 2001 after she graduated from Marquette University Law School.
The Office of Lawyer Registration (OLR) found Jacquelyn guilty of the following misconduct.
In one matter, Jacquelyn represented a client in litigation regarding a guardianship and protective placement matter. The original petition for guardianship and protective placement (the petition) was not filed before the transfer of the ward and a court had not approved the transfer.
Jacquelyn knew that the petition had not been filed before the patient was transferred and knew that the statutory requirements for transferring a patient had not been followed. Despite her knowledge, Jacquelyn made several false statements to courts related to thes facts. In one instance, she stated to the court that “the hospital’s petition for permanent guardianship had already been filed at the time the transfer was made.”
Jacquelyn also made many false statements in various documents she filed with the trial court and the court of appeals.
As a consequence of her misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Wisconsin Supreme
Court punished Jacquelyn by gifting her with a complimentary reprimand. . As we speak (ca. December 2012) Jacquelyn practices with JAC Consulting LLC at 626 East Kolboum Avenue in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
