Judge James Gilpatric of New York; moron, ethical gremlin

Unfortunately, Judge James Gilpatric sits on the Kinston City Court in Ulster County, New York.

It is obvious that Judge James Gilpatric has absolutely no concern for the welfare of the unfortunate litigants that are required to appear in his so-called court.

In August 2008, an ethics complaint was filed and certified in regards to the egregious misconduct involving Judge James Gilpatric.

The New York Judicial Commission found Judge James Gilpatric guilty of multiple charges of failing to issue prompt rulings on cases pending before him.

In one instance Judge James Gilpatric did not enter a ruling on a matter submitted to him on June 10, 2005 until January 31, 2007. Apparently, Judge James Gilpatric had better things to do, like perusing the local golf links and/or enjoying the fruits of the double-off coupons offered for lap dances at a local gentleman’s club.

From 2005 through March 2008, Judge James Gilpatric delayed the issuance of rulings on pending matters for 10-or-more-months on at least twelve (12) occasions.

Of course it is obvious that Judge James Gilpatric didn’t much give a damn if the litigants appearing in his useless court had to wait an unreasonable amount of time for him to get off his lazy duff and provide the services that he was being handsomely paid for.

This wasn’t Judge James Gilpatric’s first bite at the Judicial Misfit apple tree. Judge James Gilpatric was disciplined for misconduct on two previous occasions.

Apparently, three-strikes-and-your-out has no application in New York when dealing with Judicial Misfits such as Judge James Gilpatric, right?

Judicial Commission Punishment for Judge James Gilpatric

As expected the wimps, apologists and enablers sitting on the New York Judicial Commission punished Judge James Gilpatric for his years-long misconduct by gifting him with a “complimentary admonition.”

An unreliable source indicated that if misconduct charges are brought against Judge James Gilpatric again that, he will be eligible for an all-paid vacation to Tahiti for five weeks compliments of the taxpayers in Ulster County. Seems a little harsh, right? Is New York a great country or what?
