Attorney Pedro Sotolongo of Miami; liar

The state of Florida provided Pedro Pablo Sotolongo with a law license in 2002 after he graduated from Nova Southeastern University Law School.

The Florida State Bar found Richard guilty of the misconduct set for the below. .

In one mater, Pedro’s law firm represented numerous clients in regards to claims against Cruise lines. Subsequently, the trial court ordered that Pedro’s law firm be removed from representation in the Cruise Line matter.

During the litigation, and subsequent to his firm being removed from the litigation, Pedro entered into an agreement with counsel that he would be paid fees for the time he previously spent on the case along with any costs he may have incurred.

At a hearing, the judge asked Pedro about the money he had already received in regards to the agreements he entered into. Pedro told the court he had earned about $20,000 pursuant to the fee agreements during the prior; however, it was undisputed that the actual number was $114.000. Therefore, Pedro knowingly lied to the trial court.

As a consequence of her misconduct, the Patron Saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Florida Supreme Court punished Richard the Criminal by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.
