Attorney Michael Unger of Chicago; cheating idiot

The state of Illinois presented Michael Allen Unger with a law license in 1964.

The Disciplinary Commission found Michael guilty of the following misconduct.

Michael represented a client who had been charged with murder. Michael failed to thoroughly investigate a potential alibi defense and actually abandoned that alibi defense at trial.

Subsequently, the Court of Appeals determined that Michael’s conduct amounted to the ineffective (idiotic) assistance of counsel.

In another unrelated post-conviction matter, Michael accepted legal fees to file a motion when he knew for a fact that it was time-barred.

As a consequence of her misconduct, the Patron Saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Illinois Supreme Court punished Michael by gifting him with a complimentary 90-day suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. November 2012) Michael practices at 2802 West 26th Street in Chicago, Illinois.

Warning: Michael does not carry legal malpractice insurance
