Attorney Philip Seplow of Phoenix; ethical leprechaun

The state of Arizona presented Philip A. Seplow with a law license in 1977 after he graduated from Southeastern University Law School.

The Arizona State Bar found Phillip guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.
  1. Failed to provide competent representation (moron)
  2. Failed consult with client so client can make informed decision about representation
  3. Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  4. Failed to adequately communicate with clients
  5. Failed to safeguard client property
  6. Failed to expedite litigation on client’s behalf
  7. Made a false statement of fact to a tribunal
  8. Failed to properly supervise non-attorney staff
  9. Knowingly violated disciplinary rules and/or induced another to do so
  10. Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice

  14. Misconduct involved multiple offenses
  15. Obstructed the disciplinary investigation (Up Yours, said Philip!)
In one matter, Philip was hired Robert Draughon as a legal assistant knowing that Draughon had served time in prison as a convicted felon. Philip allowed Draughon to meet and accept clients, and accept retainers and filing fees. Philip failed to properly supervise Draughon and thereby failed in the duties he owed to his clients.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Arizona Supreme Court punished Philip by gifting him with a complimentary censure.

As we speak (ca. November 2012) Philip practices at 2000 North 7th Street in Phoenix, Arizona.

Warning: Philip doesn’t carry legal malpractice insurance
