Attorney G. Jefferson Campbell, Jr. of Medford, OR; cheater

The state of Oregon provided G. Jefferson Campbell, Jr. with a law license in 1975.

The Oregon State Bar found Campbell of the following misconduct:
  1. Charging an excessive fee (cheater)
  2. Billed client late fees in excess of the lawful rate of interest
  3. Charged client hourly fee when he entered into contingent fee with client
In one matter, Campbell represented the debtor in a Chapter 13 bankruptcy case, and was therefore an administrative creditor of the estate. Campbell agreed to serve as special counsel to the estate when the bankruptcy was converted to a Chapter 7 proceeding. Subsequently, the bankruptcy trustee in the Chapter 7 case reached a settlement that was contrary to Campbell’s interest in collecting his attorney fees. Campbell then resigned as special counsel and represented several clients in an appeal that challenged the settlement.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Oregon Supreme Court punished Campbell by gifting him with a complimentary 60-day suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. February 2013) Campbell practices at 147 North Holly in Medford, Oregon.
