Attorney George Sallaway of Fayetteville, NY; moronic loser
The state of New York presented George Henry Sallaway with a law license in 2002 after he graduated from the University of Iowa Law School.
In May 2011, U.S. District Judge David Hurd suspended George from handling criminal cases involving indigent defendants as assigned counsel for one year. Initially Judge Hurd banned George the Moron for life. However, George is banned from ever appearing before Judge Hurd in the event he is ever assigned to represent indigent defendants in the future.
Judge Hurd suspended George the Moron due to his handling of drug defendant Brian Charleston’s case. At Charleston’s sentencing, George became upset when the defendant’s elderly father spoke. The father asked George if it would be possible to sentence his son to probation instead of prison. (The Syracuse Post Standard)
Charleston pleaded guilty and faced a mandatory minimum sentence of five years in prison. Charleston said that George told him that he could have gotten a lighter sentence if he had cooperated with federal prosecutors.
Charleston’s mother, Shirley Charleston, said George “didn’t do anything at all to help my son.” George’s lawyer, Robert Wells, said Judge Hurd was concerned about the lack of face-to-face consulting George provided to Sallaway.
In accordance with Judge Hurd’s order, George will not be paid for the hours he worked on Charleston’s case. Assigned counsel for indigent defendants are paid $125 an hour.
