Attorney Mark Kovler of Briarcliff Manor, NY; convicted thief

The state of Pennsylvania provided Mark Allan Kovler with a law license in 1991 after she graduated from Dickinson Law School.

The Disciplinary Board found Mark guilty of misconduct while practicing in New York, which led to him being disbarred.

Mark’s disbarment in New York concerned a fraudulent conveyance claim against Mark and his wife that was initiated by a creditor as an amendment to her legal malpractice action against Mark. The legal malpractice case was dismissed by the Federal District Court but the fraudulent conveyance claim proceeded to trial before a Bankruptcy Judge.

The Bankruptcy Judge ruled that Mark had fraudulent conveyed his interest in his jointly-held marital residence to his wife, with the intent to defraud his creditors; that he was involved in the creation of false evidence regarding the deed he prepared in connection with that conveyance and a martial separation agreement that he and his wife falsely claimed to have entered into. Mark later testified falsely concerning these matters in deposit ions in the Federal District Court action and during the trial before the Bankruptcy Judge.

Mark’s Hyperbolic (BS) Defenses

Mark had the chutzpah to blame his criminal behavior on the following circumstances:
  • His son’s affliction with “failure to thrive” syndrome
  • His daughter’s kidney surgery, asthma, and clinical depression
  • The death of his grandmother who partially reared him
  • A stroke suffering by his father-in-law
  • Mark’s claimed recurring bouts with depression
As expected, the buffoons sitting on the Pennsylvania Supreme Court bought into Mark’s BS and granted him mitigation. Of course these same fools would laugh at anyone else that used these type of BS excuses to defend their criminal conduct.

As a consequence of his misconduct in New York, the Pennsylvania Supreme Court also disbarred Mark. Unbelievably, the comedians sitting on the Supreme Court reinstated Mark’s law license.

As we speak (ca. November 2012) Mark practices at 2 Ryder Road in Briarcliff Manor, New York.
Caution:Mark does not carry legal malpractice insurance
