Attorney Jonathan Schwartz of Miami; repeat offender

The state of Florida provided Jonathan Stephen Schwartz with a law license in 1986 after he graduated from Tulane University Law School.

The Florida State Bar found Jonathan guilty of the following misconduct

Jonathan’s 1st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

Jonathan distributed a direct-mail advertisement that contained numerous violations of the Code of Conduct. Jonathan violated the rule that required him to submit any advertisements to the Florida Bar for prior approval.

Jonathan’s advertisements contained misleading statements (lies) and improperly promised results to prospective clients (victims).

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Florida Supreme Court punished Jonathan by gifting him with a complimentary admonishment.

In late 2010 Jonathan was hired to represent a client in a paternity action.

On three (3) separate occasions, Jonathan knowingly and intentionally made misrepresentations to the trial court regarding his conduct in improperly notarizing documents. Jonathan notarized an affidavit on behalf of his client by falsely attesting that she appeared before him and by placing a fabricated date on the affidavit. Jonathan then submitted the false affidavit to the court.

Jonathan also violated the Rules of Conduct by loaning money to his client for claimed living expenses.

As a consequence of his miscondut, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Florida Supreme Court punished Jonathan by gifting him with a complimentary 90 day suspension of his law license.

Because Attorney Misfits in Florida are held to a much lower standard of conduct then everyone else, Jonathan was never criminally prosecuted for obstruction of justice or for falsifying documents.

As we speak (ca. October 2012) Jonathan practices at 200 Southeast 1st Street in Miami, Florida.
