Attorney Paul Pierson of Brookings, OR; ethical leper-con
The state of Oregon provided Paul Pierson with a law license in 1988.
The Oregon State Bar found Paul guilty of the following misconduct.
Paul was hired to represent a client in the dissolution of her marriage. Subsequently Paul received a call from attorney Christopher Keusink telling him that he represented the husband.
Shortly thereafter, Paul filed a motion for default with court without ever notifying attorney Keusink or sending him a copy of the motion. One week later, Paul filed a motion for entry of decree with the court, also without notifying attorney Keusink or sending a copy of the motion. Paul intended to not notify attorney Keusink so he could obtain a result for his client that she wasn’t entitled too.
Five days later, the trial court signed the default judgment and decree of dissolution of marriage. When attorney Keusink learned of the default and entry of decree, he notified the court of Paul’s deceit, which caused the court to void the judgment and order.
As one would expect, this wasn’t Paul’s 1st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree. He previously received a complimentary admonishment for engaging in a conflict of interest.
As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits at the Oregon State Bar punished Paul by gifting him with a complimentary 30-day suspension of his law license
As we speak (ca. September 2012) Paul practices at 16210 East Hoffeldt Lane Brookings, Oregon, which is about 100 miles north of Eureka, California.
