Attorney Vlad Kuzmin of New York City; ethical leprechaun

The state of New York presented Vlad A. Kuzmin with a law license in 1998 after he graduated from the University of Akron Law School.

The Departmental Discipline Committee for the 1st Judicial Department found Vlad guilty of the following misconduct.
  1. Charged excessive fees (cheater)
  2. Failed to comply with the rules/law when withdrawing from representation of clients
  3. Failed to take appropriate steps to avoid prejudice to client when withdrawing
  4. Failed to promptly refund unearned fees
  5. Neglected a legal matter entrusted to him
  6. Engaged in conduct adversely reflecting on his fitness to practice law
  7. Used retainer agreement that failed to comply with New York’s ethical rules
  8. Failed to keep client informed of status of legal matter
  9. Abandoned several client immigration cases
The United States Court of Appeals for the 2nd Circuit reprimanded Vlad for misconduct he committed in representing several clients in immigration matters before that court. The Court of Appeals ruled that Vlad missed briefing deadlines on multiple occasions and failed to advise immigration authorities of the circumstances of a client’s entry into the United States.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits punished Vlad by gifting him with a complimentary censure.

As we speak (ca. September 2012) Vlad practices with Kuzmin & Associates PC at 225 Broadway in New York City.
