Attorney David Couillard of Naples, FL; ethical elf

The state of Florida presented David Mark Couillard with a law license in 2001 after he graduated from the Thomas M. Cooley Law School.

The Florida State Bar found David guilty of the following misconduct

Beginning in early 2005, Dave became the roommate and subtenant of Robert Zaino, Jr. During this time, Zaino had a dispute with the landlord. Dave acted as Zaino’s attorney in the landlord dispute matter. At the same time Zaino had a dispute with Security Trust Mortgage and sought Dave’s representation against Security Trust Mortgage.

Subsequently, Dave agreed to represent Security Trust Mortgage against Zaino and appeared in court on its behalf. Later on Dave was disqualified from representing Security Trust Mortgage. However, Dave voluntarily testified against his client Zaino based specifically on information he obtained during the time he represented Zaino.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misconduct sitting on the Florida Supreme Court punished David by gifting him with a complimentary admonishment.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misconduct sitting on the Florida Supreme Court punished David by gifting him with a complimentary 10-day suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. September 2012) David practices at 1713 54th Street SW in Naples, Florida.
