Attorney Mark Brunner of West Bend, WI; thief

The state of Wisconsin presented Mark J. Brunner with a law license in 1982 after he graduated from Marquette University Law School.

The Office of Lawyer Registration (OLR) found Mark guilty of the following misconduct.

While employed by a local law firm in West Bend, Mark personally represented several clients without the knowledge of the law firm. He used the firm’s name, computer system and other resources to do so. In addition to the legal fees he billed to his personal clients, Mark retained client expenses the law firm had advanced to him and his own expenses that were reimbursed by the firm in those matters.

As a consequence of her misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Wisconsin Supreme
Court punished Mark by gifting him with a complimentary 18-month suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. September 2012), Mark continues to practice in the West Bend, Wisconsin area.
