Attorney Larry Colleton of Orlando; repeat offender, slacker

The state of Florida presented Larry Herbert Colleton with a law license in 1989 after he graduated from the University of South Carolina Law School.

The 9th Judicial Circuit Grievance Committee found Larry guilty of the following misconduct.

Larry’s 1st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

  1. Failed to act with reasonable diligence (slacker)
  2. Failed to keep client informed about status of case
  3. Failed to promptly comply with client requests for information
  4. Failed to explain matter to client to allow client to make informed decisions re: representation
  5. Failed to respond to Grievance Committee requests for information (Up Yours, said Larry!)
Larry was hired by Irving Hines to handle a civil dispute between Mr. Hines and an adjacent commercial landowner. It took Larry the Slacker over two years to file a motion to amend the original complaint with the Court. During the two prior years, Larry basically did nothing to pursue Mr. Hines’ case.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Florida Supreme Court punished Larry by gifting him with a complimentary 10-day suspension of his law license.
