Attorney Kenneth Rones of Carmel, NY; Judge Roy Bean Wannabee

FYI: Judge Roy Bean was a saloon-keeper and Justice of the Peace in Vale Verde, Texas who called himself “The Law West of the Pecos.” He was also affectionately referred to as “The Hanging Judge.”

The state of New York presented Kenneth Stephen Rones with a law license in 1974 after he graduated from Brooklyn Law School.

The New York Judicial Commission found Judge McKeon guilty of the following misconduct while sitting as a Justice on the Clarkstown Town Court in Rockland County, New York.

Kenneth thought it was acceptable to act as Judge Roy Bean in the following instances.
  • No. 1 – Kenny was tailgated and passed by a speeding car driven by Randy while driving on the Palisades Parkway. Kenny then flashed his lights at Randy and pulled up next to him, telling him he was a judge and ordered Randy to pull over to the side of the road. Randy refused which caused Kenny to partially block a driveway wherein Randy backed out and hit Kenny’s car. Kenny then filed traffic charges against, which another judge summarily dismissed.
  • No. 2 – Kenny followed a speeding car driven by Audra and flashed his lights in an attempt to order he to pullover. When she failed to pullover, Kenny passed in front of her and ordered her to stop.
  • No. 3 – Kenny again claimed he was being tailgated by Harvey. When they stopped at a red light, Kenny identified himself as a Judge and ordered Harvey to pullover, which Harvey refused to do. Kenny then called Harvey’s employer and complained about his driving.
  • No. 4 – Kenny claimed that Tara was tailgating him. When the cars stopped at a stop sign, Kenny approached Tara, identified himself as a judge, criticized her driving, and told her he was going to call her parents. After Tara’s father complained to the police, Kenny called the father and complained about Tara’s driving.
  • No. 5 – While driving, Kenny claimed he encountered a car driving erratically on Route 304 by Drew. As usual, Kenny flashed his headlights and signaled drew to pullover, which Drew refused to do. Kenny then followed Drew to his home, identified himself as a judge. Drew reported Ken to the Clarkstown police.
  • No. 6 – While driving on Route 304, Kenny saw a car driven erratically by Dawn. Again he signaled her to pullover, identified himself as a judge, took down her license and registration information, and told her would file charges against her. Dawn reported Kenny to the Clarkstown police.
As a consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Judicial Commission punished Kenneth by gifting him with a complimentary admonition.

As we speak (ca. August 2012) Kenneth practices with the Law Firm of William G. Sayegh PC at 65 Gleneida Avenue in Carmel, New York.
