San Francisco Bay area Assemblyman Ira Ruskin; ethical leper-con

On November 11, 2007, Assemblyman Ira Ruskin was involved in an accident while driving a 2005 Prius that was the property of the State of California.

Assemblyman Ira Ruskin’s accident involved him striking a security gate at an apartment complex and causing $3,440.07 in property damage to the gate and the state’s Prius.

It’s pretty clear that at the time of the accident that Assemblyman Ira Ruskin was involved in commuting to or from the apartment. Therefore, in accordance with IRS rules, commuting is considered personal travel and is treated as taxable income. It would be irrelevant if Assemblyman Ira Ruskin stuck the gate after leaving a legislative session or while he was preparing to attend a legislative session. Either way, he was commuting and his personal insurer should have been made to pay the $3,440 in property damages.

One must wonder if Assemblyman Ira Ruskin was drunk when he struck the security gate causing $3,440 in property damage. Of course to be fair, maybe the security gate was at fault! Assemblyman Ira Ruskin’s conduct in hosing the state for this accident only confirms that he is ethically insolvent.

If ya wanna know why these arrogant ingrates get away with providing themselves with luxury vehicles of their choosing along with unlimited fuel/maintenance and insurance, I’d suggest that each voter look in the closest mirror. Once you’ve done that you’ll discover who’s really at fault.

Lastly, I would suggest that every voter and taxpayer in California contact his/her State Legislators and tell them in no uncertain terms that if they do not immediately return their state cars to the State, they will never receive your vote in the future. If you do nothing but sit on your hands and let these ingrates continue to hose you (pun intended), then you have absolutely no right to complain about this outrageous conduct.
