Attorney Mark A. Bailey of Newark, NJ; arsonist
The state of New Jersey provided Mark A. Bailey with a law license in 2003.
The Disciplinary Review Board found has found Mark guilty of misconduct
At the time of his misconduct, Mark was employed as a public defender in Union County. Mark falsely reported to the New Jersey Police Department and Geico Insurance that someone had broken into his Ford Expedition and stolen the contents. Geico refused to pay the claim.
After Geico refused to pay the false claim and because he was in financial straights, Mark set his Expedition on fire. Mark was assisted by Paula Woodhouse in setting the fire. The crime was discovered when Paula anonymously called the police after she saw Mark with another woman. The old “woman scorned” payback!
Subsequently, Mark was charged with 3rd degree arson and 3rd degree insurance fraud. Mark was admitted into a Pre-trial Intervention Program. As a condition of entering into the program, Mark forfeited his position as a public defender and is barred from ever holding public office in New Jersey. He was also assessed a $5,000 fine and ordered to complete 60-hours of community service.
As a consequence of her latest misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Disciplinary Review Board punished Mark by gifting him with a complimentary 180-day suspension of his law license. .
As we speak (ca. August 2012) Mark practices at 56 Park Place in Newark, New Jersey.
