Attorney Donald Pochopien of Long Grove, IL; greedy cheater 
The state of Illinois presented Donald John Pochopien with a law license in 1988.
The Disciplinary Commission found Donald guilty of the following misconduct.
Donald and his law firm were hired by American Medical Systems Holding (AMS) to provide advice re: the acquisition of Laserscope, information that was highly confidential. Both AMS and Laserscope were publicly traded on NASDAQ.
After he learned of the proposed acquisition, Donald bought 14,000 shares of Laserscope at $20 per share. He had the shares held in the names of his parents, both of whom were deceased at the time. Shortly thereafter, Laserscope publicly announced that AMS agreed to purchase it at a price of $30.65 a share. Within two days, Donald sold all of his Laserscope shares, leaving him with a profit of $135,000.
As a consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Illinois Supreme Court punished Donald by gifting him with a complimentary 1-year suspension of his law license.
As we speak (ca. August 2012) Donald practices with the Law Offices of Donald J. Pochopien at 6601 RFD in Long Grove, Illinois.
