Attorney Dennis Rathburn of Columbus; ethical leprechaun
The state of Ohio presented Dennis Aaron Rathburn with a law license in 1991 after he graduated from Capitol University Law School.
Disciplinary Counsel of the Ohio Supreme Court found Dennis guilty of the following misconduct.
After presenting an altered prescription for Roxicodone to a pharmacy, Dennis was charged in a two-count criminal bill of information with deception to obtain a dangerous drug and illegal processing of drug documents.
The next day, Dennis filed a motion for intervention in lieu of conviction and pleaded guilty to both charges.
Subsequently, the trial court determined that Dennis was eligible for intervention in lieu of convictions and sentenced him to three years of intervention and 40 hours of community service.
Dennis admitted that he engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty or misrepresentation and that his conduct adversely reflected on his fitness to practice law.
As a consequence of his egregious misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Ohio Supreme Court punished Dennis by gifting him with a complimentary stayed 2-year suspension of his law license.
In truth, the comedians sitting on the Ohio Supreme Court failed to mete out any meaningful punishment to Dennis.
It must be comforting to the folks in the Columbus area to know that there is yet another attorney practicing in their area that finds it acceptable to break the law due to the inaction of the comedians sitting on the Ohio Supreme Court.
As we speak (ca. July 2012) Dennis practices with Rathburn & Associates at 3163 South High Street in Columbus, Ohio.
