Attorney Thomas Guadagno of Chicago; anti-semite, homophobe

The state of Illinois presented Thomas E. Guadagno with a law license in 1979.

The Disciplinary Commission found Thomas guilty of the following misconduct.

From 2003 through 2010, Thomas approached individuals he believed were seeking legal representation in traffic matters and advised them not to hire other attorney appearing before the traffic court. Tom referred to those attorneys as “a Jew,” “a Jew who only wants to take your money,” “homosexual,” “fag,” “faggot,” “a child molester,” and “idiots and morons.” Tom also stated that one attorney should not be hired because he had a “sexual torture chamber in his basement.”

Tom made the aforementioned comments about numerous attorneys but specifically targeted Paul K. Sorenson and Bradley M. Weinberg. In one instance while in Judge Edward Harmening’s courtroom and in the presence of the judge, attorney Sorenson and members of the public, Tommy yelled, “scumbag” and “homosexual” at Sorenson while pointing his finger at him.

Tommy’s conduct resulted in the Cook County Sheriff’s office being summoned to the courtroom. Upon arrival, a Deputy Sheriff told Tommy to stop yelling. When Tommy continued to yell, the Sheriff arrested him for disorderly conduct. In May 2009, Tommy was convicted of disorderly conduct and sentenced to 6-month of court supervision and ordered to attend the Mel Gibson Anger Management Institute located in Burbank, California.

After serving his 6-monthcourt supervision sentence, Tommy continued (Nov 2009 to March 2010) to engage in his bigoted conduct. On at least a dozen occasions in the presence of attorney Weinberg’s clients Tommy called Weinberg “a Jew who only wanted take their money” and a “child molester.”

The commission also concluded that Tommy was guilty of the following:
  1. Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
  2. Committed a criminal act adversely reflecting on his honesty and trustworthiness
As a consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Illinois Supreme Court punished Thomas by gifting him with a complimentary 30-day suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. July 2012) Thomas practices with The Law Offices of Thomas E. Guadagno at 258 West 51st Street in Chicago, Illinois.
