Attorney Thomas Finks of Taylorsville, IL; ethical leprechaun
The state of Illinois presented Thomas O. Finks with a law license in 1984.
The Disciplinary Commission found Thomas guilty of misconduct on at least two occasions.
Tom’s misconduct involved his unsuccessful attempt to dupe the voters into electing him as a Circuit Court judge. After becoming a judicial candidate, Tom circulated nominating petitions that omitted specific information concerning the actual judicial vacancy he was seeking.
Tom also failed to supervise his secretary when she falsely notarized signatures on two nominating petitions even though those persons did not personally appear before her.
And lastly, Tom and his secretary did political work related to his judicial campaign on county time and also used county resources while he was employed by the State’s Attorney’s Office. Somebody had to pay for Tom’s unsuccessful run for office, right?
As a consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Illinois Supreme Court punished Thomas by gifting him with a complimentary 60-day suspension of his law license.
As we speak (ca. July 2012) Thomas is employed by the Christian County State’s Attorney office at 101 South Main Street in Taylorsville, Illinois.
WARNING: Thomas does not carry legal malpractice insurance!
