Attorney Adam Skolnik of Coral Springs, FL; repeat offender

The state of Florida provided Adam Ira Skolnik with a law license in 2004 after he graduated from Brooklyn Law School.

The Florida State Bar found Nicholas guilty of the following misconduct:

Adam’s 1st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

  1. Failed to provide competent legal services (moron)
  2. Failed to act with reasonable diligence (slacker)
  3. Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
  4. Failed to respond to client requests for information about legal matter
  5. Collected a clearly excessive fee (cheater)
  6. Engaged in conduct contrary to honesty and justice
  7. Intentionally manufactured a false court pleading
  8. Purposely mislead (lied) to the Florida State Bar investigators
  9. Failed to respond to State Bar inquiries (Up Yours, said Adam!)
In one matter, Adam accepted a $1,000 retainer to represent a client that was a defendant in a foreclosure action. After accepting the $1,000 fee, Adam did absolutely nothing on the client’s behalf, which resulted in a default judgment being rendered against the client.

Subsequently, the client fired Adam and demanded he return the $1,000 in unearned fees. Adam refused to refund the unearned fee which resulted in the client suing him and obtaining a judgment against him. Adam only paid the judgment after the client filed a complaint with the State Bar.

Another matter also involved Adam’s gross negligence in representing a client. In this case, Adam never filed the required notice of appearance with the court on his client’s behalf. After the client filed a complaint with the State Bar, Adam found it convenient to fabricate a phony notice of appearance and provided it to the State Bar investigator.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Florida Supreme Court punished Adam by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.
