Judge James Ammons Jr. of Fayetteville, NC; ethical gremlin

The state of North Carolina presented James Floyd Ammons Jr. with a law license in 1981 after he graduated from the University of North Carolina Law School.

The North Carolina Judicial Standards Commissionon Judicial Performance found Jimmy guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Failed to comply with and respect the law
  • Failed to observe appropriate standards of conduct
  • Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
  • Brought judicial office into disrepute

As a consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Judicial Misfits sitting on the North Carolina Supreme Court punished Jimmy by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. April 2016), Jimmy continues to sit as a Superior Court judge in Fayetteville, North Carolina.
