Former Judge Solomon Osborne of Greenwood, MS; ethical troll

Unfortunately, the state of Mississippi provided Solomon Curt Osborne with a law license in 1975 after he graduated from the University of Illinois School of Law.

The Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance found Solly guilty of engaging in the following misconduct, all of which occurred while she was sitting as a Leflore County Court Judge.

  • Engaged in willful misconduct in office
  • Solly made the following statements before the Greenwood Voters League, a predominantly African American political organization.
  • Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
  • Engaged in conduct which brings the judicial office into disrepute
  • Made a public inflammatory, derogatory statement about all people of the White race, thereby eroding public confidence in the integrity and independence of his Court
  • Made a public spectacle of himself and thereby de-meaning the prestige of his office
  • Publicly announcing manifest bias and prejudice based on race.
  • Improperly maintained a membership in, attending meetings, and promoted the agenda of a political organization

Additionally, Solly made the following statements before the Greenwood Voters League, a predominantly African American political organization

  • “White folks don't praise you unless you're a damn fool. Unless they think they can use you.”
  • “If you have your own mind and know what you're doing, they don't want you around.”

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Mississippi Supreme Court punished Solly by gifting him with a complimentary 1-year suspension from the bench and assessed costs of $731.89.

As we speak (ca. May 2024), Solly practices his so-called brand of law at 216 Start Street in Greenwood, Mississippi
