Former Judge Joe Walker of Mendenhall, MS; ethical elf

The Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance found Joey guilty of engaging in the following misconduct, all of which took place while he was a Simpson County Chancery Court judge.

  • Joey pled guilty to a charge of attempting to corruptly influence a witness subpoenaed to appear before a Federal Grand Jury proceeding
  • Pled guilty to impeding the provision of documents by a witness to the grand jury with the intent to influence the outcome of the proceeding
  • Pled guilty in Federal District Court to felony obstruction of justice
  • Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
  • Brought his judicial office into disrepute

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the Mississippi Supreme Court punished Charlie by ordering him removed from his judicial office and assessed costs of $3,392.34.

As we speak (ca. April 2024), it is rumored that Joey has an application pending as a bathroom attendant for the Nightlife S.O.S. Night Club at 412 Main Street North in Mendenhall, Mississippi.
