Attorney Mark Cummings of Greensboro, NC; deceitful liar

The state of North Carolina presented Mark T. Cummings with a law license in 2007 after he graduated from the University of North Carolina School of Law.

The Grievance Committee of the North Carolina State Bar found Mark guilty of the following misconduct, all of which related to his conduct in his candidacy for Superior Court Judge.

  • Knowingly made false state to a tribunal
  • Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty, or misrepresentation
  • Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
  • Engaged in conduct adversely reflecting on fitness to practice
  • Failed to comply with either the tax obligations applicable to employees or tax obligations applicable to independent contractors with respect to individuals performing services for his law firm
  • Made false statements about employee’s compensation
  • Lied by stating to the NCSB that he did not compensate employee for her work at his law firm
  • Knowingly and intentionally ordered courtroom clerk to prepare a court note containing false information
  • By holding himself out as eligible to be elected as Superior Court Judge in District 18A when he was not eligible engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty, or misrepresentation

All that remains is to see what if any punishment is meted out to Mark by the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on Grievance Committee of the North Carolina State Bar.

And lastly, as one would suspect, Phil fails to mention the misconduct set forth above on his self-serving website at www.markcummingslaw.com. Apparently, he decided to conceal this highly relevant information from prospective clients for the purpose of not limiting his future victim pool.

As we speak (ca. March 2024), Phil practices his so-called brand of law at 108 North Elm Street in Greensboro, North Carolina.
