Attorney Anita Hunt of Durham, NC; thieving loser

The state of North Carolina presented Anita Hunt with a law license in 1998 after she graduated from North Carolina Central University School of Law.

The Grievance Committee of the North Carolina State Bar found Anita guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Misappropriated (stole) $12,500 of entrusted client funds (thief)
  • Anita knew parties she disbursed funds to were not entitled to be paid using other client’s entrusted funds
  • Anita was not lawfully entitled to $9,000 in client settlement funds she transferred to her operating account
  • Misappropriated (stole) $9,000 of entrusted client funds (thief)
  • Repeatedly engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty, or misrepresentation
  • Misappropriated (stole) $1,833,000 of entrusted client funds (thief)
  • Misappropriated (stole) $30,000 of entrusted client funds (thief)
  • Failed to perform quarterly three-way reconciliations of her trust account

All that remains is to see what if any punishment is meted out to Anita by the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on Grievance Committee of the North Carolina State Bar.

As we speak (ca. March 2024), Anita practices her so-called brand of law at 104 East Main Street in Durham, North Carolina.
