Attorney Jose Font of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; ethical elf

The State of Florida provided Jose Pete Font with a law license in 2004 after he graduated from the University of Florida School of Law.

The Florida State Bar found Jose guilty of the following misconduct.

  • In his capacity as managing partner, Jose authored motions to withdraw as counsel containing disparaging information about other attorneys
  • Jose personally authorized the filing of hundreds of motions containing disparaging comments about other attorneys in various courts
  • Made frivolous discovery request
  • Failed to comply with opposing party discovery request
  • Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
  • Violated or attempted to violate the Rules of Professional Conduct, knowingly assisted or induced another to do so, or did so through the acts of another

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Florida Supreme Court punished Pete gifting him with a complimentary 3-year suspension of his law license and was assessed investigative costs of $1,250.00.

As we speak, (ca. January 2024), Jose will resume his so-called brand of law Font & Nelson LLC at 200 South Andrews Avenue in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida in December 2026 and possibly earlier.
