Attorney Donald Brown of Brewer, ME; ethical dwarf

The state of Maine presented Donald F. Brown with a law license in 1975 after he graduated from the University of Maine Law School.

As one would suspect, this isn’t Donnie’s First bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree. He previously received one complimentary warning and two complimentary reprimands for engaging in a variety of misconduct.

Panel E of the Grievance Commission of the Maine Board of Bar Overseers found Donnie guilty of the following misconduct.

• Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty, or misrepresentation
• Engaged in a conflict of interest
• Caused injury or potential injury to the public or legal system

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the Patron Saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Maine Supreme Judicial Court punished Donnie by gifting him with a complimentary stayed 1-year suspension of his law license.

In truth, the comedians sitting on the Maine Supreme Judicial Court didn’t mete out any meaningful punishment to Donnie.

As we speak (ca. January 2024) Donnie practices his so-called brand of law at 15 Columbia Street in Brewer, Maine.
