Attorney David Aleshire of Charleston, WV; ethical troll

The state of West Virginia presented David A. Aleshire with a law license in 1995 after he graduated from the University of West Virginia School of Law.

The Lawyer Disciplinary Board found Davey guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Davey was completely unresponsive to his clients in two matters
  • Caused both clients actual monetary damages
  • Refused to cooperate with opposing counsel
  • Failed to comply with several court orders
  • Misconduct involved dishonest or selfish motive
  • Misconduct involved multiple offenses
  • Failed to participate in various civil proceedings
  • Refused to fully acknowledge the wrongful nature of his conduct
  • Failed to communicate with his clients
  • Refused to take any responsibility for failure to communicate with his clients
  • Violated duties to his clients, the public, the legal system, and the legal profession
  • Failed to file client tax returns and return them to her
  • Failure to deliver deed to the property that his client purchased from Davey’s real estate company over an alleged legal fee dispute deprived her of the use of this property for almost two years
  • Client had to retain another attorney and spend years in litigation to receive the property she purchased from Davey
  • Davey caused his client considerable stress, necessitating that it was necessary for her to employ another C.P.A., and resulted in the I.R.S. investigating her
  • Charged  unauthorized legal fees to his client being the closing costs that by contract were the sole responsibility of the seller (crook)
  • Failed to execute necessary settlement documents on client’s behalf, which resulted in opposing counsel  filing multiple motions to enforce the settlement agreement

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the West Virginia Supreme Court punished Davey by gifting him with a complimentary 3-year suspension of his law license.

As we speak, (ca. December 20223), Davey practices his so-called brand at 2602 Rummelbrown Drive in Charleston, West Virginia.
