Former Judge Harry Radcliffe III of Wheeling; WV; tax fraudster

The state of West Virginia presented Glen R. Stotler with a law license in 1990 after he graduated from the University of Baltimore School of Law.

The West Virginia Judicial Investigation Commission found Harry guilty of engaging in the following misconduct, all of which took place while he was employed as an Ohio County Magistrate Court Judge.

• Pled guilty to one count of Conspiracy to Impede the Internal Revenue Service
• Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty, or misrepresentation
• Accepted a total of approximately $22,000 in cash payments from William W. Seelbach, then owner of W&S Bail Bonding d/b/a A Bail Bonding by ABC (“ABC”), which payments were offered by Mr. Seelbach as bribes to Harry
• Willfully failed to report this income to the Internal Revenue Service, resulting in a total tax loss of $5,500.00
• Failed to report this extra-judicial income to the Supreme Court of Appeals of West Virginia
• Failed to comply with the law (scofflaw)
• Failed to avoid impropriety or the appearance of impropriety
• Abused the prestige of his judicial office
• Sentenced to 4-months in prison

Rather than await a ruling from the Judicial Commission that may well have led to him being tossed off the bench, Harry did what any cowardly Judicial Misfit would do, he resigned.

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Judicial Misfits sitting on the West Judicial Investigation Commission punished Glen by gifting him with a complimentary censure and fined in the amount of $5,000.00.

As we speak (ca. December 2023), it is rumored that Harry has an application pending for a job as a restroom attendant at the Walmart Supercenter Store at 450 Stewart Lane in Triadelphia, West Virginia.
