Attorney Joseph Neill of St. Louis, MO; ethical troll

The state of Missouri presented Joseph V. Neill with a law license in 1977 after she graduated from St. Louis University School of Law.

The Office of Disciplinary Counsel found Joey guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

• Alleged to have engaged in sexual harassment of a client – Ms. A.C.
• Joey offered her beer; told A.C. she was attractive and asked her how she felt about being with an older man
• Over several months, Joey sent the A.C. 150 texts that he has described as flirting
• Joey’s texts showed that he offered A.C. money and asked later if she wanted to get together
• Joey gave A.C. a total of $2,000, but both he and A.C. denied that there was an exchange of sex for money
• At another meeting in Joey’s office, he twice grabbed A.C.’s hand and attempted to have her rub his genitals
• Joey asked A.C. to meet with him and said his wife would be away one night
• Joey admitted it was misconduct for an attorney to engage in harassment based on sex
• Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
• Created a conflict of interest by putting his interests over his client’s

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on Disciplinary Counsel punished Joey by gifting him with a complimentary 6-month stayed suspension of his law license.  

In truth, the comedians sitting on Disciplinary Counsel didn’t mete out any meaningful punishment to Joey.

As we speak (ca. November 2023), Joey practices his so-called brand of law at 5201 Hampton Avenue in St. Louis, Missouri.
