Attorney Leo Benitez of Coral Gables, FL; ethical troll

The state of California presented Leo Benitez with a law license in 1999 after he graduated Georgetown University School of Law.

The Florida State Bar found Leo guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

• Leo filed and pursued a frivolous (BS) lawsuit
• Leo filed the lawsuit even after receiving evidence that demonstrated an affidavit on which he relied to support his claims was false
• Misconduct involved multiple offenses
• Leo did not withdraw the affidavit, but rather he continued to rely on his client’s denials and did not conduct an independent assessment of the case
• Monetarily sanction by the trial court for his egregious misconduct
• Knowingly acted in bad faith
• Engaged in a pattern of misconduct

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Florida Supreme Court punished Leo by gifting him with a complimentary 1-year suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. August 2023), Leo practices his so-called brand of law with Benitez & Associates at 122 Minorca Avenue in Coral Gables, Florida.
