Attorney James McGee of Westbrook, CT; idiotic slacker
The state of Connecticut provided James A. J. McGee with a law license in 1975 after he graduated from Hofstra University School of Law.
The Statewide Grievance Committee found Jimmy guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.
-
Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
-
Failed to provide competent representation (idiot)
-
Over three years, clients encountered repeated difficulty communicating with the Jimmy in that he failed to return repeated telephone calls
-
Jimmy never provided his clients with a bill for his services and an accounting to support the bill until three years after he was hired
-
Jimmy’s bill contained several inaccuracies and was inflated (cheater)
-
Despite the amount of work detailed in Jimmy’s bill, when the clients reviewed their file, they discovered that it contained only a transcript pertaining to another case.
-
Jimmy refused to turn over the clients’ file to their new attorney upon being terminated
-
Failed to cooperate with ethics investigators (Screw you, said Jimmy!)
As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the patron saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Statewide Grievance Committee punished Jimmy by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.
As we speak (ca. August 2023), Jimmy practices his so-called brand of law in Westbrook, Connecticut.
