Attorney Dorothy Wright of Green Brook, NJ; serial offender

 

The state of New Jersey presented Dorothy L. Wright with a law license in 1976 after he graduated from Syracuse University School of Law.

 

The New Jersey Office of Attorney Ethics found Johnny guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

 

Dorothy’s 1st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

  • Failed to communicate the basis or rate of the fee in writing to Ms. Fitzpatrick either prior to or within a reasonable time after beginning the representation
  • Failed to advise your client that your fees would be paid first from the monthly payments to the trustee in bankruptcy
  • Failed to explain the retainer agreement or arrangement for payment of fee through the trustee confused the matter significantly
  • Failed to provide the details of the fee arrangement to his client
  • Conduct adversely reflected not only upon you as an attorney but also on members of the bar

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the New Jersey Supreme Court punished Dorothy by gifting her with a complimentary admonition.

 

Dorothy’s 2nd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

  • Failed to keep the client reasonably informed about the status of a matter
  • Failed to promptly comply with client’s reasonable requests for information
  • Failed to set out the basis or rate of the fee in writing
  • Failed to provide a formal bill to her client

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the New Jersey Supreme Court punished Dorothy by gifting her with a complimentary reprimand.

 

Dorothy’s 3rd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

  • Engaged in gross neglect
  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Failed to withdraw from a representation when good cause for the withdrawal exists
  • Failed to communicate with her client
  • Engaged in a pattern of gross neglect
  • Failed to maintain client confidential information
  • Failed to maintain a normal client-lawyer relationship with a client whose capacity to make adequately considered decisions in connection with the representation is diminished
  • Failed to take reasonably necessary protective action and, in appropriate cases, seeking the appointment of a guardian ad litem, conservator, or guardian, when she reasonably believes that a client has diminished capacity, is at risk of substantial physical, financial or other harm unless action is taken and the lawyer cannot adequately act in the client’s own interest
  • Failed to withdraw from a representation when it would result in a violation of the Rules of Professional Conduct or other law

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the New Jersey Supreme Court punished Dorothy by gifting her with a complimentary reprimand.

 

As we speak (ca. August 2020), Dorothy practices her so-called brand of law in Green Brook, New Jersey.
