The state of Michigan presented Wendell N. Davis, Jr. with a law license in 1977.
The Michigan State Bar found Wendell guilty of the following misconduct in May 2010.
Neglected a legal matter entrusted to him (slacker)
Failed to refund unearned fees (cheater)
Beginning in 1985 and continuing through 2010, Wendell has taken repeated bites from the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree for engaging in an assortment of misconduct. Those bites are as follows:
1st bite – June 1985 – receives complimentary reprimand
2nd bite – November 1987 – receives complimentary 3-year suspension
3rd bite – July 1988 – received complimentary 6-month suspension
August 1991 – law license reinstated
4th bite – April 2007 – receives complimentary 30-monty suspension
5th bite – May 2010 – receives complimentary 180-day suspension
Jan 2012 – license reinstated
As a consequence of his 5th bite at the Misfit Tree the patron saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Michigan Supreme Court punished Wendell by gifting him with a 180-day suspension of his law license.
An unreliable source indicated that if Wendell decides to take his 6th bite at the Misfit Apple Tree, the Michigan Supreme Court is ready to punish him by providing him with a 30-day, fully paid vacation to Tahiti for him and his family.
As we speak (ca. June 2012) Wendell practices law at the Metropolitan Legal Resources Center PC at 15565 Northland Drive West in Southfield, Michigan which is a suburb of Detroit.
