Attorney Richard Morgan of Wilmington, NC; ethical dwarf

The state of Nevada presented Richard M. Morgan with a law license in 1965 after he graduated from the  University of Indian School of Law.

The Grievance Committee of the North Carolina State Bar found Dick guilty of the following misconduct.

• Initiated multiple wire transfers of seller proceeds in real estate transactions without verifying with the sellers the authenticity of the wiring instructions
• In each instance, the wiring instructions Dick followed were fraudulent
• Failed to use reasonable security measures when he does not verify disbursement change in wiring instructions
• As a result of Dick’s negligence, $573,451.48 was wired to fraudsters

As a direct consequence of his misconduct the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Grievance Committee of the North Carolina State Bar punished Dick by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. June 2023), Dick practices his so-called brand of law with Morgan & Carter PLLC in Wilmington, North Carolina.
